Just a quick post....err... mission statement about what this blog is all about.
My name is Mike Donchatz and I'm an IT professional who makes his living by harnessing the power within the world of networking. I've been doing this for about 15 years. I initially started with routing and switching but eventually moved to network security, then voice-over-IP, and most recently to wireless networking. My expertise is centralized around Cisco Systems however I've managed to pickup skills with a variety of other vendors products as well. I've got a couple of certifications to show for my efforts including my CCNP, CCSP, CCNP Voice, and I'm currently working on my CCNP Wireless. I've currently no desire to achieve any of the CCIE exams, but perhaps that'll change in the future.
At any rate, I've been meaning to start a blog for awhile as a method to keep track of the various odds and ends that I come across on a daily basis while doing my job. I think it'll be helpful to be able to go back through my posts to find solutions I've already whipped up as opposed to searching the web for other people's blogs, knowledge bases, forums, etc... If someone else happens to come across my blog and may find something useful, even better...if not ...meh...I wasn't really writing it for others anyway.
So with that away we go....
